At Amazing Grace Sanctuary, our goal will be to provide lifelong care to dogs who have been overlooked or forgotten. Many come from years in shelters, scared and unsure of humans. Through quiet space, gentle routines, and a whole lot of love, we help them trust again, even if they’re never adopted.

Our Story
Amazing Grace Sanctuary didn’t begin with a business plan. It began with heart and a shared belief that every dog deserves peace, dignity, and a real chance at healing.
After years of working in shelters and volunteering in rescue, we saw too many good dogs passed over simply because they were scared, shut down, or couldn’t thrive in a loud, high-stress environment. Some waited for years. Others never got their chance.
We knew they needed something different—a place without pressure, no ticking clock, a space where they could simply exist and begin again.
That’s when the vision for Amazing Grace Sanctuary was born.
We’re creating a forever sanctuary for dogs who may never be adopted but still deserve joy, safety, and love. With outdoor runs, comfortable enclosures, enriching routines, and compassionate daily care, Amazing Grace offers more than shelter—it offers home.
This sanctuary is for:
- The ones who don’t “show well”
- The ones who need more time
- The ones who’ve been forgotten
Our future residents will come from Common Sense for Animals, a no-kill shelter that has provided them with safety and stability until Amazing Grace Sanctuary is ready.
Our work is led by President Bobby Hansen, with guidance from our dedicated team: Lee Hansen (Director), Holly Bate (Director), Theresa Bostock (Director), Nicole Hansen (Treasurer) and Heather Burd (Secretary). Together, we’re building something grounded in empathy, patience, and purpose.
